Art Fundamentals provides high-quality, on-demand art lessons, programs and resources designed specifically for primary school educators. Each lesson focuses on a significant artist, exploring their artworks, techniques and creative practice.
Art making activities are supported through clear step-by-step guidance or an artist-led instructional video, with explicit links to the elements of art.
All lessons are fully aligned with the National Curriculum and the upcoming 2027 NSW Creative Arts Syllabus, ensuring both relevance and classroom readiness.

MEET THE ARTISTS

HOSSEI is a multidisciplinary Australian artist with Persian, Turkish and Russian ancestry, exhibiting work across Western Sydney and beyond.
His art explores his family history, imagination, emotions, and the ways people connect with one another. HOSSEI is interested in ideas like mysteries, dreams and storytelling. He uses both real and made-up characters to create unusual and imaginative artworks that encourage people to think, feel, and wonder.

Lily Cummins is a contemporary artist and educator, living and working on Gundungurra Country, Southern Highlands. Her practice encompasses painting, drawing, and installation art. Lily creates artworks by repeating shapes, lines, and objects to tell stories about memories, feelings, and the passing of time. She uses lots of colourful layers to show how memories can change over time. Her paintings often show homes and dream-like places that feel both familiar and a little mysterious, inviting people to look closely and imagine their own stories.
